Ilaiyaraaja is a rare phenomenon in the Indian Music Industry. He is been composing music for almost three decades for numerous Tamil movies and quite a few non-film compositions. He is a master of various music genres- from folk to fugue. His first symphony was recorded with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by John Scott. Hey Ram is his second symphony composition was recorded with Budapest Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Laszlo Kovacs.
