FLIGHT BRIEF




ORB-20 was flown today to 63,831 ft and recovered.

The ATV was only visible for the first few thousand
feet after launch. It flickered a few times on the
monitor during the flight, but was not copyable.
It was still operating at the recovery site.

The review of the complete video and the time stamps,
video was lost on the ascent at 1,000 ft AGL and
aquired again on descent at 3,000 ft AGL.

The test of the nichrome cutdown was a success.
I sent the cut-down command at 60k ft, but no-joy.
I re-sent the command 3 more times and we had a
cut-down at just over 63k ft.

We were within a couple hundred yards of the payloads
at 3k ft and drove right under them. They landed
behind us on the side of the road in the cloud of
dust we made, obscuring the landing.
