ORB-19

Post Flight & Pic's

FLIGHT BRIEF

ORB-19 was launched at 0903 CDT. No one left
the launch site until after burst. The balloon
was in plain site all the way up to burst at
95,082 feet. I was videoing it up to 30 seconds
before that and missed it! BUMMER! :(

It then descended, passed right over us in
Skiatook at 1,000 feet and landed in the
drive-through lane of Carl's JR. Other than
a couple crunched corners on the tracker
and camera capsules, all was fine.

We all had lunch at a Deli in Skiatook.

David and I returned to my QTH where we down-loaded
the data from the ozone monitor. It recorded data
every 10 seconds from launch through 75,000 feet,
at which time the batteries were drained.
This was expected and was not a problem.
David was very pleased!

I have downloaded 36 pics from the horizontal
camera and 27 pics from the vertical camera.

Thanks to the peanut lady who made the rounds.
to those of us in need of refreshments.
Lying on our backs for 2 hours watching
a balloon was tough duty! ;)

Thanks to all who participated!

and

A special thanks to Mike & Mitzie
for providing us, once again, with
a great launch site!

ORB-19 Flight Path
Looks like a missed approach!
:)

ORB-19 picture taken in flight at 92,000 feet.
I overlaid the actual position reports.

Thanks to David (AJ5W) for the details to the following picture.

That appears to be Robert S Kerr Lake in Sequoyah/Le Flore Cos.
Ft.Gibson Lake is visible underneath the near cloud shield,
Greenleaf Lake is just above the lake, the shiny river is the Arkansas,
the Canadian River is visible just past the Arkansas (also flowing into Robert S Kerr),
and the eastern tip of Lake Eufaula (along the Canadian) is visible on the far right
portion of the picture. Thus, the camera was pointed SE when this picture was taken at
 approximately 85,000 feet!.

Anyone for Carl's Jr. takeout?

David (AJ5W) is happy to get the ozone monitor back.

All packed up and ready to go eat.
