April 18: Visit to Fermilab
It's a pretty impressive building: 16 floors, and about 4 miles from the gate to the
place. We drove by a herd of bison that lives on the site. (Lived in CO for 8 months
and we have to come to Illinois to see Bison!)
There is a self-guided tour on the 15th floor. Pretty impressive view, despite the
poor visibility.
We wandered through a maze of labs and hardware to find that my brother actually does
have an office here.
This is our distant cousin. Something about her grandmother and my mother's cousin.
Whatever - in the south everyone is your cousin, right? She used to be an operator
for the lab, so she gave us some great info during our "self-guided" tour. Thanks,
