TOY COLLECTING

I have also enjoyed and bean collecting toys since as far back as I can remember...
(I am the short guy in the photo above with my big brother, celebrating Santa's delivery circa 1971)

Twas only later that I found out that it was my folks whom gave to us these very cool toys,
which eventually fueled the early passions for wanting to act in Jimmy Carter-esque strategim
and save all the little 12" people...

My values changed when the Kung-Fu grip was introduced, however....
and Carter miserably failed in the desert trying to rescue our hostages in Iran...

I avowed myself of Peanuts and Prostelation...

it was Jelly Sandwiches all the way unto fore...

Whilst most of my neighbors were setting fire or attaching incindiery devices to their GI Joes and Evel Kneivel's
and launching them from roof-tops and/or torching them in backyard sandboxes,
for the entire neighborhood kids to stand in awe of their destructive prowess,
I knew that that just did not seem right for my toys,
my 12" action-figure friends...

Thusly began my journey to save these little and mighty plastic men. I didn't know what an IRA or a 401K was then either...

How time has proved this notion correct...
Just cruise through Ebay sometime and look at the going prices.

I collect mainly old school;

GI Joes, Marx "Best of the West/Johnny West" series, Major Matt Mason
and a variety of mostly action figures (NOT DOLLS)
from the '60's and '70's...

The time when toy manufacturing was at its best, in my opinion...

BY THE WAY...
I am still in pursuit of the Bigfoot figure to go with my Bionic man stuff, if anyone out there might have "the Yeti" just gathering dust...
(YOU KNOW WHAT THE RIGHT THING TO DO IS!!!!)
