What is the Orthodox Church?
"Orthodox" and "Orthodoxy" derive from the Greek word, orthodoxia, which can mean, "right glory," or "right
worship." (Here, "right" means "correct.") As such, it also suggests, "correct belief." Thus, the Orthodox
Church believes and declares that the full and correct understanding of the Christian faith, and the proper way to
live that faith, and the God-pleasing form in which to worship God has been made know to Her, and is faithfully
preserved and transmitted by Her. The history and the doctrines and the worship of the Orthodox Church all bear
witness to the truth of this declaration.
