LOVING GOD WITH ALL...

WORSHIP DANCE Class Summary

The goal of the class is to introduce the new or experienced dancer to a set of concepts that he or she can work with, expiriment with, and grow into. The class is aimed at producing dancers who can choreograph dances commensurate with their dance skills.

Experienced dancers in the class will be challenged to dance at their best ability. A brief barre workout will demonstrate warmup to those unfamiliar with the concepts, and adagios are planned for the second half of class, time permitting. Experienced dancers will also be encouraged to demonstrate simple steps, poses, and motions for the beginners in the class who have never seen them before.

Beginning dancers will be introduced to several concepts and encouraged to experiment with them at their own pace. The emphasis will be on learning how to move expressively rather than memorizing set steps.

The concepts will be best absorbed by participation. Those who wish to "observe" the class, listening without participating, and watching the experienced dancers, are welcome to do so. However, "observers" will *not* be allowed to watch the beginners, but must respect their privacy and give them pressure-free "space" to try new things.
