DEALING WITH BAMBI

This concoction also seems to discourage japanese beetles: a double boon! It smells oniony for the first hour or three, but then humans can't smell it easily at all. It doesn't overpower your fragrant flowers all week long. I spray last thing before I go in at night, so it doesn't bother me.

ONION SPRAY

Boil in a couple quarts water til water darkens:

small onion (sliced)
garlic (crushed/diced)
tbsp red pepper flakes

Let cool. Strain.*

Strain liquid thru coffee filter also. Then, to strained liquid, add:
a spurt of liquid soap (hand soap, dish detergent, whatever.)

Fill spray bottle and storage jars. Store in shed or outbuilding-- it smells.

Spray weekly AND after every rain. Works great.

*(Dump strainings under your most vulnerable plants for additional deterrence; Don't let dog eat onions.)
