ICC 2005 minutes of meeting

Signal Processing and Communication Electronics Technical Committee (SPCE)

Meeting at ICC 2005, Seoul, Korea
17 May 2005, 5:20 pm - 6:15 pm

1. Introductions  - The meeting began at 5:20 PM.  Attendees introduced themselves.  

2. Minutes of GLOBECOM04 - The minutes of GLOBECOM2004 were approved, however, co-chairship of symposium at GLOBECOM05 did not work out.

3. Technical Program Committee (TPC) and Workshop reports

A. ICC2005 Tomo Taniguchi
ICC2005 allocated 13 sessions.

B. Globecom'05 J. Elmirghani and N. Ohta
Co-chairship of symposium at GLOBECOM05 did not work out. We thus decided to raise the issue at TAC.

C. ICC2006 Tomo Taniguchi
Meeting would be held on 18 May, 2005. We received a request of co-sponsorship of symposium by signal processing for storage TC. Bin will talk with the chair of TC.

D. Globecom2006 J. Elmirghani and H. Nguyen
Globecom2006 will hold 11 symposia. SPCE has not been inluded. J. Elmirghani said that he had sent e-mail, but maybe it was too late. We added H. Nguyen as a co-chair. We received a request of co-sponsorship of symposium by signal processing for storage TC. Bin will talk with the chair of TC.

E. ICC2007 Tomo Taniguchi
ICC2007 will hold 7 symposia. SPCE has been inluded.

F. ISPACS 2005
ISPACS05 will be held in Hong Kong. N. Ohta introduced that they were seeking help in organizing (or recommending person to organize) a special session and tutorial in communication systems.

1. MAPE2005

 MAPE 2005 Will be held in Beijing.  They unofficially requested technical co-sponsorship. TPC potential candidates were sent by e-mail.

4. Other Business
We decided to confirm whether Yumin Lee is able to serve as a vice chair or not. Bin will send him e-mail.

5. Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 PM.  There were 5 people in attendance.
