Placing a Carsonite marker on the Jeffery/Goodale Cutoff in 2003

This cistern is near Webb Spring on the North side of the Big Butte. The wagon train will camp near here before heading to Arco.

The immigrants had to drive over and around this rock on the Jeffery/Goodale Cutoff.

Notice the groove in this rock and the rock wall on the left.
These were used in an effort to keep the wagons from sliding off into the creek approximately 50 feet below.

This is looking east from the rock in the previous picture. Note the Jeffery/Goodale trail just to the right of the fence line on the hill, as it heads down to and through the creek then up to the rock.

This is over-looking the American Falls Reservoir approximately 7 miles southwest of the Old Fort Hall on the Snake River.
