ISTV Features

Monitor audio transmissions between crew and driver of each participating racing team.  The viewer will be able to select an individual team to monitor or scan the entire roster of teams and monitor the next team that is communicating. ISTV  will also provide a graphical depiction of who is currently communicating which will allow the user to select an active channel of interest.  This function is not possible at the actual event using a hand held scanner radio.

Real-time telemetry (i.e. speed, engine rpm, throttle and brake positions, gear selected, etc.).  The viewer will be able to select one or more race cars and view real-time cockpit displays.  This will allow the viewer to compare race telemetry of two or more vehicles of choice.  This feature is independent of the race team audio transmission feature above.  A viewer can be monitoring the voice transmissions of one team and monitoring the vehicle telemetry of one or more other vehicles, all in real-time.

Real-time race field summary information , analysis and trends.  This feature allows the viewer to select areas of interest and obtain real-time statistical information on the entire race field.  This feature will allow unprecedented analysis of the race in progress.  Questions like, who is the fastest in turn one, who is shifting the least, who is improving their lap times the most, who is using their brakes the least, who had the quickest pit stop, and many others can be answered with this function.

Real-time virtual race-cam (VRC) that allows the viewer to view the race from any position or camera angle.  Utilizing the real-time telemetry data streams from each race car and current generation PC racing simulation software, a viewer will be able to view the race in real-time from any angle and position on or above the race track, moving or stationary.  The VRC can be controlled by the viewer or pre-programmed to view action that interests the viewer.  The intent of the VRC is to view action that interests the viewer independent of the broadcast video coverage.  The VRC picture can be displayed picture in picture with the live broadcast video coverage.

Instant replays of any time period of the event from any vantage point as many times as desired (either by manual selection or automated means). Instant replays can be programmed to happen automatically based on parameters set by the viewer. The instant replays can be displayed picture in picture with the live broadcast video coverage.

Virtual Race Driver.  Direct participation in the event using current generation PC simulation software and additional control equipment that will enable the viewer to compete in a re-created virtual race environment either during (real-time) or after the broadcast.  The viewer can choose a car from the current race, and it will perform identically as the actual car in the race, as characterized by race telemetry.
