Chunky's Page

My name is Chunky Monkey, but you can call me Chunky for short.   Bet you're wondering how a toothpick like me got my name.  I was a fat, round, chocolate colored puppy.  My breeders called me Chunky Monkey after the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream.

I'm a retired show dog that just got too big!   A whole 2.5 inches taller than Winnie (She's a petite 14" and 9 pounds).  Here's a photo of me with my one big win - Best of Opposite Sex in the Sweepstakes Class at the Valley of the Sun Italian Greyhound Club Specialty Show in November of 1997.

I came to live with Winnie back in November of 1998.  We're good buddies and keep each other company.  Although I'll never understand her fascination with toys.  Here's a photo of me soon after joining my new family:

I enjoy eating, sleeping and eating and sleeping.  I'm a bit wary of strangers, but I love attention and eventually warm up to strangers so that they can pet me.

I'm pretty new at this agility thing. I was not sure about it at first, but I get all that liver for just running through tunnels!  How easy is that!.  In fact, I earned my first qualifying score in NADAC Novice Jumpers on January 13th, 2002 and a second place!  Then I finished my Novice Jumpers Title in Prescott, AZ on May 12th and another second place!  When I get some pictures of me doing agility, I'll add them here.

I was born right here in Phoenix, Arizona.  My registered name is Sunjata's Ti Yi Yippy NJC.  My mom is CH Sunjata's Magie Noir and my dad is CH Peachwood's Buttenfly Levi.  He is a two time Best of Breed Winner at the prestigious Westminster Dog Show in New York City!  Thanks for stopping by.  I plan on adding more to my page.
