I wasn't too sure about this whole obedience thing when we got started. It wasn't that much fun to just walk around the ring. I tried really hard four times before I got my first qualitying score in Novice B. After that, I was more relaxed and they came pretty quickly! I am proud to annouce that I earned my CD in three straight shows (185.0, 171.0, 183.0), with the last being A High in Trial at the Italian Greyhound Club of America Western Regional Specialty show in June 2001.

Don't I look cute!

I went back into the ring at the Phoenix Field and Obedience Trial over February 23rd and 24th, 2002 to get warmed up for the IG Specialities in March. I qualified the first day with a 183.0. The second I just decided that I had enough of the cold weather, and went down on the sit just has my mommy was going around behind me. She couldn't understand why I couldn't hold it another three seconds. She just doesn't understand.

Then I went onto the IG Specialties on March 20th and 21st. The first day was the Italian Greyhound Club of America, where all four entries qualitied! I earned a second place in Novice B with a 188.0. The second day, once again all four entries qualified! This time I earned a first place in Novice B with a 188.0 and High In Trial!

It's a little bittersweet since I won't be able to compete in Novice obedience again. Onto Open! If only we could use a squeaky mouse instead of a dumbbell....
