Home

Sparkle is a 7-year-old pied female weighing around 13 pounds. She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines. Sparkle loves people and kids, and her favorite hobby is laying in the grass, soaking up the sun. She is crate trained and leash trained and hardly ever has accidents in the house, as long as you listen to her when she tells you she needs to go out. She is great with other dogs her size, but can be intimidated by larger dogs. Her foster mom says she has a great, quirky personality and is not boring! At 7 years old, she still has a lot of years ahead of her and needs a forever family who will love her unconditionally!

For more information on Sparkle, please contact Serena (MD & DC) at md.ig.rescue@gmail.com or Joy (VA & WV) at va.ig.rescue@gmail.com.

Honey  is an 8-year-old fawn female who weighs 11 pounds. She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines. Honey came to us with a severe dental infection and lost most of her teeth. Honey is working on crate training and leash training, and is potty pad trained. She gets along well with other dogs her size, but hasn’t been around cats. Her favorite place is cuddled up on your lap – she is a real snuggle bug! She is a bit of a shy girl, so she is looking for a quiet household with no small children.   If possible, we'd like Honey and O.B. to stay together - since they're so very attached to one another.

O.B.

Update from O.B.’s Foster Mom: We have had O.B. since the middle of June 09. When we received him, he was boney thin, had a very rotten mouth and was not neutered so he wanted to mark everywhere. His hair coat looked very rough and was missing patches of it on his tail and legs. He was very loving even in this condition.  Now...... since his mouth is all cleaned up (he only has 6 teeth left), he's been neutered and meat back on his bones, he is still very loving and a happy boy. He wanted to mark a lot before he was neutered so we kept a belly band on him. Now the only time we put a belly band on him is when we are at work and we know we are going to be somewhere for more than 4 hours. He is crated when we are gone and most of the time his belly band is dry when we return. When we are home he goes out in our back yard with the rest of the clan and has been very good about doing all his business outside. He is pretty much a laid back snuggle bum. He walks well on a leash and will get excited when he knows he's going for a walk. He loves everyone, including adults, kids, other dogs (large or small) and doesn't mind cats either. He also loves riding in the car. We have taken him on some camping trips this summer and he loves our RV. When we walk by it he wants to get in. He eats wet food and is a good eater. He's good about having his toe nails clipped too. He loves to be carried in your arms like a baby. The only thing O.B. doesn't like is to be left alone. He is ok if left with other dogs but will cry a bit at first then fall asleep.

O.B. is an 8-year-old blue male weighing around 12 pounds. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. O.B. came to us with a severe dental infection and lost most of his teeth, but that doesn’t stop him from loving to give kisses! He has a very sweet personality and loves walks, but would rather curl up on someone’s lap to sleep. He is doing well with his potty training, and is crate trained and leash trained. He is also good with children. O.B. doesn’t like to be left alone, so he is looking for a home that has another dog in the house, and a family who can patiently work with him to continue his potty training.  If possible, we'd like Honey and O.B. to stay together - since they're so very attached to one another.

Molly & Maggie are 1 yr old fawn females weighing in at around 15 lbs each. These sisters (from the same litter) are spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. They're very sweet, well adjusted girls and have lived their whole lives together as best friends. Maggie is outgoing and adventurous. Molly is a bit timid and follows Maggie's lead. They're both doing great with housetraining, leash training, and crate training. They're dog, cat, and kid friendly as well. Mollie and Maggie are cute as can be and a pleasure to watch playing together. If possible, we'd like these two to stay together- since they're so very attached to one another. These two pups would like a family who has lots of time to play with them.

Wilbur:

Update from Wilbur’s Foster Mom: Wilbur was found wandering the parking lot of a vet’s office, without tags or anyone to claim him. We can not believe someone would dump such a kind old soul so late in life, when he should be living out his days in comfort. He has had to adapt to a lot of changes in his life and takes a little while to bond, but once he does, he is sure to make you smile every day.  Wilbur is a very easy dog and doesn’t want to cause any trouble. He is easy to please, a nice back scratch and a soft meal will win his heart. “Little Wilb,” as he is affectionately called, sleeps a lot and loves to snuggle with you under warm blanket or watch TV by your side. His heart is full of kindness. As a submissive dog, Wilbur avoids conflict with both dogs and people. He gets along with everyone and seems to tug at the heart-strings of every one he meets. Sometimes, when he is feeling his “spunk,” he gets all excited about playing fetch with his favorite toy, the mini-tennis ball. You can sometimes see the wheels turning in his head when he seems to give himself a pep-talk before jumping up on a chair or sofa. He may have an old body, but he is healthy and his mind is sharp. This senior citizen deserves a truly special home, where he can live out the rest of his days with love and comfort.

Wilbur
is a 12-year-old blue and white male, who weighs about 10 lbs (although he loves to eat!). He is neutered and up-to-date on all shots. He is such a sweet and easy going little boy! He loves being around people but enjoys his alone time too. His favorite hobbies are sun bathing, chasing mini tennis balls, and snuggling under blankets. He loves snuggling on the couch but often needs help getting up after long rest periods. He is crate trained, potty trained and also great on a leash. Wilbur has a lot of love and affection left to give and would probably do best in a somewhat quiet home without too many steps.

Baby is a 6-year-old fawn and white male who weighs 15 pounds. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. Baby is missing a few teeth but makes up for it with a sweet personality. Baby is house trained, crate trained, and good on a leash. He gets along well with dogs and cats, but as far as we know, hasn’t been around children. Baby has a moderate energy level.
