Nominations of officers for 2006
Nominations were solicited from GLOBE members in an email message sent by
Interior GLOBE’s President on January 5, 2006. Nominees announced at the
meeting are:
Ike Kelley, President
Maria Wiseman, Vice President
Joe Briskey, Secretary
John Haugh, Treasurer
Jay Douglas, FedGLOBE Liaison
GLOBE members will be asked to vote by email within the next couple weeks.
Report from GLBT Liaison
Discussions continue between officials in Interior GLOBE and DOI to investigate
the possibility of having a full-time GLBT advisor in the Office of Civil
Rights.
Review of the Action Plans from the GLOBE Program Review
First actions to undertake:
Complete, review, and distribute
meeting minutes within a few days of each meeting.
At the next monthly meeting, begin
attempts to identify outside speakers to give quarterly presentations on GLBT
issues. The talks would be open to anyone interested in attending.
Post meeting notices on the GLOBE
bulletin board and building entrance bulletin boards, and update the bulletin
board regularly.
Attempt to find one person each to
redistribute GLOBE email messages within the Office of the Solicitor and the
Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Use the monthly meetings to plan more
social activities.
Centralize Interior GLOBE’s records.
At the next monthly meeting, begin canvassing the membership for subjects for another meeting with the Office of Civil Rights on GLBT issues.
