is a non-profit, community based multicultural center supported by membership fees, individual contributions, class fees, and fundraising projects. The House provides a "link" between the community and international students, scholars, and visitors through the International Friendship Program, the World Discovery Classroom Project, and varied cultural and social functions. The goal is to foster international understanding and friendship. Membership is open to anyone interested in other countries and cultures and provides generous discounts for nationality dinners, language classes, and many other events -

volunteers are invited to attend our 22nd special wine and hors
d’oeuvres party. Volunteers include Board Members, ESL teachers
and tutors, foreign language teachers, and those who help at special
events during the year. Spouses are invited as well. We ask that you
please R.S.V.P. by May 8.
COOKING IN
ENGLISH
Wednesday, May
20, 10 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.
Get acquainted with American cuisine and
customs in this one session cooking class for our international
students and visitors. You'll learn cooking terms and techniques
using easy, healthy recipes. Practice your English with I.H.
chefs Nancy Marcucci and Cal Krichmar as you learn to cook American
foods. Please register by May 13. Class size limited.
Fee: $10 includes the
class and the luncheon.

Pranayama Yoga
Class (afternoon) Thursdays, 4-5 P.M. May 1 - August 27 Indian native, Santosh Jain, will lead a yoga class promoting an awareness of health. Class will include asanas (positions) for helping with problems related to spine (spondylitis), back, slipped disk, cervical vertebrae, asthma and lungs. The breathing and stretching exercises promote relaxation benefits. Donations gratefully accepted (suggestion:$5). |
