  • SKYWARN TRAINING FOR WAKEFIELD, VIRGINIA AREA    - Michael Motefusco and the NWS AKQ staff will be conducting advanced and basice skywarn training sessions .   • SKYWARN TRAINING FOR NORTHERN VIRGINIA    - Kevin Shaw of ACON MD/DE/DC sends this remeinder for those of you in the far northern reaches of our area. SKYWARN classes are an excellent opportunity to get severe/significant weather training on reporting those important events to the NWS from your town/neighborhood/backyard. Check out http://www.erh.noaa.gov/lwx/skywarn/classes.html for the latest SKYWARN class schedule. Some future classes include : Basics 1 classes in Towson (MD) on March 11 and Germantown (MD) on May 12. The Loudon County Emergency Center in Leesburg VA will host a Flood class on April 1 and a Tropical Weather class on June 3. So check them out when you get the chance if you want some good basic training.!
