Moore Creek, Alaska is located about 45 miles NorthWest of McGrath. It is an old mining operation with more than 2 miles of tailings containing coarse gold as can be seen in the picture above.

I returned to Moore Creek in June 2006 and was fortunate enough to find another 3 ounces of nuggets with the largest being a nice 2.65 ounce specimen.
