The USS Chillicothe. Commissioned 5 September 1862. One of three similarly built boats, Tuscumbia and Indianola were the others. The Chillicothe had a barge like hull, with a squared off bow. One of the, in my opinion, ugliest scows on the river.

Her service record is; Expedition up the White river, capture of Ft. Hindman, Arkansas, 10-11 January 1863. Yazoo Pass expedition, damaged by gunfire (11th and 13th) during attack on Ft. Pemberton, Tallahatchie River, 11 - 23 March 1863. Red River expedition, 12 March 16 May 1864.
