The CSS Fredricksburg, was one of four casemated ironclads built at Richmond. Laid down in 1863, but not completed until mid 1864. The Fredricksburg took part in the battle of Trent's Reach and was the only one of the Confederate ironclads to pass the obstructions. The Virginia II and the Richmond ran aground, and the attack failed.
