Here is some information about our Israeli dance group. We meet every Monday night from 8 to 10 PM at the Jewish Community center -

6121 West Esplanade Ave
Metairie, La

The charge is $1 for members and $2 for non-members of the JCC. Everyone is welcome. A partner is not required because most of the dances are done in a line or a circle. The dances are very varied and contain influences from many different countries because Israel has people from over 100 different countries. We dance strictly for fun and recreation, so no one need feel bad if they don't do the dance perfectly-- none of us do (dance perfectly that is). We try to teach new dances periodically, and do about 30 different dances during an evening.

During the past year we have done many performances:

Some of them are shown here. At these functions we generally perform a few dances, and then we get the audience to participate. We teach a few dances that are simple to learn

At the Children's Museum

For the Kids Fair at the Superdome

For the International Children's Fair at the Lakefront Airport

For International Night at Tulane University

For International Night at UNO

And at the JCC on St, Charles for the Jewish Holidays-Purim, Israel Independence Day etc.

At these functions we generally perform a few dances, and then we get the audience to participate. We teach a few dances to them that are simple enough to pick up easily.
