CABIN- MARK’S ROOM- BACK TO PRESENT
Mark has his hands over his face, while lying on his back.
MARK
I’m sorry. I should have come sooner.
GHOST SALLY
I was awake the day you visited, but I kept my eyes closed. I heard you leave again and it broke my heart.
(Mark opens his eyes and turns toward her, but when he reaches, she’s gone.)
EXT. CABIN- ON PORCH- NIGHT
Spade and Lana are sitting on the porch, enjoying the evening.
SPADE
I wonder if Mark got any last night.
LANA
Why do you always have to be so crude?
SPADE
What? I want him to enjoy himself and to be honest, I don’t know if Winnie is satisfying him.
LANA
Maybe that’s not what he wants right now.
SPADE
He’s a guy and I know him. He needs good, meaningless sex. If not with Winnie than with someone...
(Lana is pissed.)
LANA
So what are you saying? You want me to check in on them to make sure Winnie is satisfying him?
SPADE
You don’t have to if you don’t want to.
LANA
Oh, I want to. And guess what? If I see she is not pleasing him properly, I’m gonna go in there and make sure he has a great night! What do you think about that?
SPADE
You took the words right out of my mouth.
LANA
Fine!
SPADE
Fine! I’ll be in the room when you’re done.
LANA
Fantastic! Now I know where not to be!
INT. CABIN- LIVING ROOM AREA- MOMENTS LATER
Lana carefully tip-toes to Winnie’s room, whose door is slightly ajar. She opens it to see Winnie soundly sleeping alone. Lana then creeps back to Mark’s room as she begins unbuttoning her BLOUSE.
INT. CABIN- MARK’S ROOM- CONTINUOUS
Mark lies on his back with his eyes closed. Ghost Sally is no longer present, but he is unaware that she is gone.
MARK
I’m so sorry. I loved you, but I was scared.
(Lana is now topless as she tosses her BRA and BLOUSE by the foot of his bed.
Lana sneaks into Mark’s bed as he continues to reflect upon his past with Sally. Mark places his hands over his face in frustration.)
MARK
Maybe, I should just kiss you, so you’ll disappear. You’re not real!
(Lana scoots herself right next to him.)
LANA
Oh, I’m real.
(Lana immediately rolls on top of him, while kissing his neck and then his mouth. Mark enjoys the moment. He only sees... Sally. She is pure and whole with a white mist behind her as if they’re in heaven. Mark kisses her with passion. He’s been given a second chance or so his mind imagines. He closes his eyes as Sally begins kissing his chest.)
MARK
I’ll stand by your side through all your hardships. I’ll never turn away from you again. I love you, Sally.
(sides part 2)
INT. CABIN- KITCHEN- MOMENTS LATER
Spade and Lana are still eating when they hear the SCREAM of a woman.
VOICE (V.O.)
I know what you did. I will take my revenge!
LANA
Spade, I’m scared.
SPADE
(acting tough)
Don’t worry, I’m here.
(Lana grabs his shirt and shakes him.)
LANA
What the hell is going on here?
SPADE
OK, OK. The reason I got this place so cheap is because its been reported to be haunted.
LANA
Why didn’t you tell me before! Let’s go home.
SPADE
We just got here.
LANA
This place is spooky. I don’t like it.
(Spade starts laughing)
LANA (CONT’D)
What’s so funny?
(Spade pulls her gently into the main living room area.)
SPADE
This is all a joke. We got you so good.
LANA
A joke?
SPADE
Yep. Me and the guys wanted to scare you. It was just for fun. We didn’t think you’d take it so seriously.
LANA
I don’t believe you.
(Ryan and STEVE return from their jog at that moment.)
SPADE
Tell her, you two.
RYAN
Tell her what?
SPADE
Tell her that the haunting was all faked.
RYAN
Haunting?
SPADE
Time to fess up, boys. We went a little too far. She wants to go home because we scared her so badly. If we don’t tell her that we were the ones behind the cruel haunting joke, the vacation’s over.
(Spade winks at them.)
STEVE
Oh, OK. Ya, we’re sorry. It was just for fun.
RYAN
We did it. It was us.
LANA
Did what?
SPADE
Ryan found a voice alternator that makes him sound more like a girl than usual and we’re really sorry. It was a bad joke, but we’ll make it up to you, Won’t we guys.
RYAN
Sure, I guess.
(Lana is still not convinced.)
LANA
It sounded so real.
RYAN
State of the art.
(Spade is pleasantly surprised.)
LANA
Was Winnie in on this joke too?
SPADE
No, she’s clean.
LANA
Where is she then?
STEVE
I just saw her follow Mark down by the lake.
LANA
I’m gonna find her.
SPADE
Ryan and I will go. Stay here with STEVE, so we can all get to know each other better. We’ll be spending the month together, so we should all become friends, right?
RYAN
That’s right. Let’s go, Spade.
(As they leave the cabin, Ryan slaps Spade’s ass. Spade lightly shoves him.)
SPADE
Don’t push it, ass hole.
RYAN
Just wanted to be a part of the team.
(sides part 3)
CUT TO:
INT. SPADE’S APARTMENT- MORNING- A WEEK LATER
Spade is in his BED. His BLANKETS are covering the lower half of his back side as he has sex with LANA MOORE.
LANA
Oh, yes, baby, right there.
SPADE
You’re the best lay I’ve ever had, Lana. You make me feel like Superman.
(They laugh.)
LANA
Oooo, baby, fly me to Metropolis.
(She laughs and then kisses him deeply before she ducks under the covers.)
INT. SPADE’S APARTMENT- A LITTLE LATER THAT MORNING
Lana is out of bed. She is just putting her shirt back on over her BRA. Spade is wearing khaki PANTS and is going through his closet to find a shirt.
LANA
How’s your friend Mark doing?
