Comments by owner:

I had a Plymouth Colt, which was my first car. Here is what I think about it, and about Colts overall.

Pros:

An excellent choice for the $2000-3000 range. If you get a low-mileage one you can be sure it is going to last you for long with no major problems or costs. The handling and the way you get a feel for the road are perfect. You can squeeze through in traffic and park in spots everyone skips. The 92 hp gives you lots of power for the car of its size. For any type of street driving I think this is simply the car to buy from its class. The sense for the road this car gives is exceptional. Very good engine compression. It can stop in a few hundred feet if you let go off the gas.

Cons:

Oil is constatly being burned (at a slow rate of course) but some mechanics are saying that this is a trademark of all Mitsubishis. Brakes are worse than you would expect out of front disc brakes on a light vehicle. Instability on turns. Warms up slowly. That's it.

Overall Review:

Overall I would recommend this car to any buyer who wants Japanese quality in a car with an American name, making it cheaper than the Mitsubishi Mirage which is the same car with the Japanese name. The Plymouth Colt, the Dodge Colt and the Mirage are all the same car, and I recommend buying for cheaper the American name. This car is also known in the rest of the world as the Mitsubishi Colt. There, you cannot get it cheaper, so take advantage and forget the Civics.
