How We Got Married

or, The Cool-Ass Hybrid Multicultural Weddingthingy

The number of inter-ethnic marriages in America is continually rising. And every single one of these couples faces the question of how best to incorporate their cultural traditions into one ceremony. Many couples just throw up their hands and schedule two weddings. But for us that meant twice the cost, twice the headache, and the neverending question of which anniversary was the "real" one.

Finally we decided to damn the traditions, full speed ahead. We would pick and choose the best traditions from each culture and weave them together to create a completely new type of event. An acquaintance, in a stroke of brilliant prescience, dubbed our upcoming nuptials "the Cool-Ass Hybrid Multicultural Weddingthingy." And in the end, not only was our wedding everything we'd hoped for, but a number of our guests told us ours was one of the most unique and beautiful weddings they'd ever been to.

This web site exists not only for our family and friends, but also in the hope that it may help some of the many other inter-ethnic couples out there discover and create their own perfect day. Congratulations to you, and enjoy our site!
