Assessment and
Interventions
At Scherkenbach ES, our teachers use a
variety of common assessments and interventions to ensure our students are
successful, strong readers.
We believe in these foundations;
-
Identify early and intervene
strategically using the
Dynamic
Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Assessments in grades K-5
-
Focus on the big ideas of
reading which are vital signs of success
-
Strive to accelerate
struggling readers, rather than just remediate
-
Hold instructional time
sacred
-
Expect and plan for
different levels of instruction and needs
-
Monitor progress frequently
to determine if children are learning enough
A variety of reading interventions are
used based on the needs of the student.
