FOR OUR CHAPTER
Each year, MOAA recognizes chapters and
councils for performance and outstanding newsletters or other
communications methods.
Our
chapter electronic news won first place
for the e news category for our chapter size for the year 2006.
Again and
again and again and again. VIPMOAA received the five star award
again in 2007 for the year 2006. This is the fourth year VIPMOAA
has achieved this goal.
VIPMOAA
received the five star award again in 2006.
This is the third time VIPMOAA has been selected for 5 stars. In
2002 we received a four star award.
VIPMOAA
RECEIVES ANOTHER FIVE STAR LEVEL OF EXCELLENCE AWARD, which was
presented to VIPMOAA by Col Bill Flanagan, president of the Virginia
Council of Chapters of MOAA (VCOC), at out chapter meeting of December

VIPMOAA received the Five Star
Award for exemplary
performance again
in 2004.
The
newly-sworn-in President of the Virginia Council of Chapters of
MOAA (VCOC) presented the 5-star level of excellence award to VIPMOAA
President. The streamer is dated 2005 and is for chapter
accomplishments in 2004. This is the 2nd year in a
row VIPMOAA earned the five star award. We held a 4-star
rating prior to the two 5-star awards.

exemplary
performance in
2003. The award was announced in the September 2004 issue of The Affiliate MOAA's
national newsletter. VIPMOAA was one of only ten chapters
in Category II, 200-499 members.
Our chapter earned honorable mention in our Newsletter category for 2003 (Category I Chapters with 500 to 899 members). Editor, Major Adrian Presley, USAF, Retired received a snazzy certificate from national MOAA. VIPMOAA also obtained a logo and bragging rights. The winner in our category was The Sarasota Breeze, Sarasota Florida. Tied for First Runners-Up were: The Retrospect, Tampa Florida Chapter, The Patriot, Richmond Virginia Chapter, and The Defender, Northwest Florida Chapter. The Virginia Council of Chapter’s Council Crier received second runner up for Council Newsletters.
