Langley AFB

These are special instructions for getting to the building where our September meeting will be held. The other entries below will still be valid when the main (Officers) club reopens.

The Langley Officers’ Club is under renovation. The March meeting is at the Langley Enlisted Club. Directions: Enter Langley Air Force Base at the LaSalle Gate. Continue about 3.0 miles as street changes name to Nealy, Sweeney Blvd, and Ward. Enlisted Club will be on your RIGHT. Street address is: 350 CLARK AVE. /Diane Berard, COL, USA, Retired, Co-chair Hospitality Committee

Note: this is a long way around the east end of the base, so be patient and persistent!

Armistead Gate Entry:
I-64 East bound to Hampton Roads Center Parkway take second right exit to proceed EAST on Hampton Roads Center Parkway. After passing the hospital on your right, turn North on Armistead Avenue (a left turn). Turn right into Langley Gate. Be prepared to show your military ID card. Proceed east (directly ahead after the entry gate) on Sweeney Boulevard. Just past the fire station is an intersection called confusion corner, controlled by a series of stop lights. The road you want to be on is the only one that will have a divided highway with a center strip of grass. Be alert for the Fire station and go straight ahead (slightly right) on Hammond Avenue, the divided road with center strip.   The fighter aircraft on pedestals should now be on your right. The club will be directly ahead of you past a traffic circle. Proceed partially around the traffic circle, take a right and be alert to enter the club entrance just before entering the King Street Bridge.   This street is Benedict Avenue.

La Salle Gate Entry:
I-64 West bound exit at La Salle Avenue, a right exit after entering Hampton. At the La Salle Gate, show your ID card and take right turn on Nealy Avenue just after going through the gate. Stay on Nealy, past the B52 on a pedestal, BOQs, Hospital, until you see the fighter aircraft on the pedestals. Turn right on Hammond Avenue. The fighter aircraft on pedestals should now be on your right. The club will be directly ahead of you past a traffic circle. Proceed partially around the traffic circle, take a right and be alert to enter the club entrance just before entering the King Street Bridge.   This street is Benedict Avenue.

King Street Gate Entry:
Proceed East or West on Mercury Boulevard until you arrive at the King street intersection and proceed North on King Street to the gate. (King street is the only over pass of Mercury Boulevard other than I-64). Show your ID card, cross the bridge of the Southwest Branch of the Little Back River, and make an immediate right turn to the club parking lot.
