VIPMOAA Relay for Life

It's true.  As of March 15, 2007 the United States Air Force has stopped bases from issuing car decals.  This was reported in the June 2007 MOAA Magazine. Well.....we do not know yet, what the other services are going to do when the Air Force Decals on your vehicles expire.  Do you know what you will do? Do you know what they will do?  Neither do I.

New Officers:
2007-8 Officers
Virginia Council of Chapters  of MOAA President, COL Bill Flanagan, USA, Ret, installed VIPMOAA officers at the Dec 16 VIPMOAA meeting, with the office effective Jan 1, 2007.  Elected officers generally serve a 2-year term (though VIPMOAA bylaws still indicate annual elections).  Phone numbers for all board members are listed on page 2 of the printed newsletter.
Left to right are: Malvin, Mondul, Zaremba, Hinojosa, and Flanagan.

(Note: we do not publish email addresses or telephone numbers on our web site due to the possibility that this important information can be "harvested" by a "bot" resulting in voice and e-spam.

Below is a little information about each of VIPMOAA’s elected officers.

FUTURE OFFICERS
In ROTC and Junior ROTC Units

The Virginia Peninsula Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (VIPMOAA) has a long-standing, active ROTC Affairs Committee chaired by David Howell, LtCol, USAF, Retired (757) 850-1452.  Dave coordinates the presentation of awards to outstanding ROTC and Junior ROTC students at universities and high schools throughout the Peninsula.  He also encourages units to present colors at chapter meetings and contribute articles and photos for our chapter newsletter and speakers for chapter programs.

VIPMOAA members/volunteers present MOAA medals and certificates at Hampton University and the combined ROTC units of The College of  William and Mary and Christopher Newport Universities.

Chapter members also present MOAA medals and certificates to Junior ROTC cadets at eleven high schools:  Bethel, Denbigh, Gloucester, Hampton, Heritage, Kecoughtan, Menchville, Phoebus, Tabb, Warwick, and York.

Awards are presented during the annual award ceremony at each school.   Cadets and their instructors attend in uniform.  Family members are in the audience to recognize achievements.  Representatives from many other organizations also present awards at the formal ceremony.

Tell Dave by April 10th if you would like to present an award at a school near you. VIPMOAA likes to use a variety of presenters.

Names of award recipients and presenters are printed in a summer VIPMOAA newsletter along with a photo or two.
