My email addresses are Jan1333@cox.net    or   janet359@hotmail.com  Feel free to try more than once as my server has been known to misplace messages.

The following information contains a brief history of Rowes Run including Pictures and information on Grindstone, Pennsylvania. It is divided into sections on the history of each town, pictures of the mines, family members who worked at these mines, and local buildings.  With a few exceptions, these are pictures taken by my father, James Seksay during the 1930's and 1940's.

At the Rowes Run Memorial section, we have pictures of unidentified soldiers.   Actually, we  have many unidentified people. If you recognize anyone, send an email and we will update with their names and any stories you would like to share.

The Families section contains pictures of family groups that lived in Rowes Run.  We are hoping to add to this collection.  If your family lived in Rowes Run and you would like to participate, please email me.

For a story of the life and times in Rowes Run, go to the top of this page and click on the up button until you reach the home page. Then look for the link on the left for family stories & read the Nagy/Kerezsi Family story.  They immigrated from Hungary soon after 1910 ending up in Rowes Run. The brothers and sisters have shared their family story, and Paul Kerezsi shares a thorough description of Rowes Run and Buffington.

If you are not familiar with these town locations, go to the home page and find the link to the Map section for Fayette County.

Many thanks to John Lowery for all of his help with this web site.
