I. Introduction

There are portions of the Lake/Leake families that have had books written about them . There are some of you who have books just about ready to go to print. But there are also many unproven connections and dangling lines which coordinated effort will link up.

II. Newsletter information

The "Lake/Leake Newsletter" was published from 1994 to 2001. A newsletter can be a wonderful forum for sharing discoveries, exchanging ideas, and solving research questions. The "Lake/Leake Newsletter" was a quarterly. Each issue had 12 pages jam-packed with articles, data and queries. Publication dates were the first of March, June, September and December. Back issues are $4.00 each or $15 for any complete year. If you would like copies of back issues, please send a check to Janna Larson, 14623 N. 49th Place, Scottsdale, AZ 85254-2207. You will find the index to articles below.

III. Projects

In 1996, Annette Truesdell began to compile a database of Lake and Leake surnames, complete with sources and notes. We have also been collecting information on the surname Leek and any other spelling which we feel may be a variation of the name. If your data is in a program that is GEDCOM compatible, please send a disc (with notes and sources) to Annette at 656 Llagas Vista Dr., Morgan Hill, CA 95037. You may contact her by e-mail at <.">atrue@garlic.com>.

A project to collect Lake/Leake/Leek surnames in the 1850 Federal Censuses was completed and Annette Truesdell has the transcribed pages.

IV. Queries and Comments
