Lead / Senior Systems Engineer & Integrator of Navy Marine Corps Enterprise Services (NMES) and Lab Manager.  

·         Providing Systems Engineering / Integration / Administration / Engineering Lead support for the Navy Enterprise Portal (NEP) and Navy Marine Corps Portal (NMCP). 

·         Engineered a clustered Portal (production and multiple test systems) to provide high availability and minimize downtime. Clustering includes fail-over servers for MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005, network load balancers, BEA WebLogic Clustering, and Storage Array Networks (SANs).

·         Developed architecture for the Information Assurance Tracking System (IATS) and Navy Family Accountability and Assessment Systems (NFAAS).

·         Member of Task Force Navy Families (TFNF).  Provided assistance and support at the Pentagon for Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Crisis Action Team during Katrina and Wilma disasters.  Also provided support for various disaster related exercises.

·         Involved in integration of Web Services for FORCENet Services Infrastructure (FSI), under PMW 160.

·         Set up and upgraded NEP systems on USS  George Washington, USS Theodore Roosevelt BatlleGroup (7 ships), COMLANTFLT, Second Fleet (Norfolk, VA), COMPACFLT (Oahu, HI), USS Philippine Sea (Mayport, FL), NAVEUR (Naples, Italy), and USS Essex (Sasebo, Japan).  Set up multiple development and Quality Assurance Portals in San Diego, Washington DC, Norfolk, and Charleston.

·         Provide engineering, administration, and operations training to engineers, users, and Naval personnel (includes hands-on and PowerPoint presentations along with ship riding)

·         Learned/configured/troubleshot software/hardware configurations of the production Portal systems nationwide. Software/programming includes: Windows 2000 Adv. Server, Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Ed, Systems/Network Administration, MS Active Directory, MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Computer Associates CleverPath Portal (3.5/4.01/4.7), Internet Information Server (5.0/6.0), BEA WebLogic Application Server (6.1/7.01/8.1.4/9.1), Oblix NetPoint (6.0), BackupExec (8.x), ASP, JSP, COMPAQs/HPs, Dells, Vulcans, Cisco Catalyst switch, Silkworm Brocade, and Ciprico NetArray.

·         Engineered our NEP architecture on the new IT-21 security architecture, COMPOSE, for ships.  Developed Windows 2000 Server security templates (GPO/RACLs/FACLs/IPSec) for non-COMPOSE systems for Network Operations Center (NOC) environments. 

·         Developed Windows 2003 Server  security templates in accordance to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for our clustered Portal to be used on ashore installations.

·         Developed imaging process to facilitate mass imaging of our production systems (NIPR/SIPR) at various stages of installation with SANs.

·         Developed and implemented various Disaster Recovery Plans for NMCP, IATS, and NFAAS.

·         Mentored 12 engineers and assist others on NMCP architecture and integrations.

·         Assisted in standing up the Navy Enterprise Application Development Guide (NEADG) website

·         Coordinated various NEP installation trips (gathered docs, installation software, check lists, etc) for self and other engineers.

·         Develop and update documentation on Production installations, various installation stages, installation check lists, training instructions, operation manuals, Security Authorization Agreements (SSAA)

·         Help set up Application Migration Database and Configuration Management Database as a source for configuration management of our software, documentation, and Portal application submissions.

·         Technical support for NEP/NMCP Help Desk (user registration, login problems, applications).

·         Lab Manager and  Systems Administrator (Organized new lab facility, responsible for daily lab operations, update security of portal systems, and fix network, software, and hardware issues).

·         Develop a tasking schedule to keep up with all our installations and assigned various tasking to other engineers.

·         Test various applications and provide feed back to application owners for their integration into the Portal.

Member of Task Force Web (Registry/Enterprise Module Server Team).  Investigated Web Services technologies including Extensible Markup Language (XML), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI), Web Services Description Language (WSDL), MS .NET, and Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE).  Developed a Java Server Page (JSP) and an Active Server Page (ASP) used in the module server to redirect web-enabled applications within the portal.  Deployed an Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) into a BEA WebLogic Application Server using TogetherSoft’s Together ControlCenter case tool.  Produced documentation on the development of the EJB, JSP, and ASP.

 

Member of the C4I Systems Engineering & Integration Group (D4221).  Developed a Java test driver to test the APIs for an Alert Monitoring system with XML file inputs.  Setup Sun’s Solaris 7/8 and WinNT 4.0 OSs.  Edited test procedures for and evaluated the Idaho Evidence Tracking System (ETS) v1.0 and CRIMNet v1.8. Investigated various MS Outlook 2000 and MS Project 2000 features.  Develop a data sharing portal for the Counterdrug Technology Assessment Center (CTAC) using Oracle’s portal.  Installed a web-enabled MS Project Central running on MS SQL2000 Server.  Assistant Systems Administrator.  Designed a html GUI prototype for a web-enabled METOC Filter Alert system.
