GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
(1) WELCOME! We welcome those who are visiting us this morning for worship. Please
use the sign-in sheet in the bulletin for any special prayer requests or concerns
you have. We invite you to sign the guest book in the narthex. Thank you!
(2) SPECIAL CHILDREN'S BULLETINS are available for all children ages 3-12. Ask
an usher for one.
(3) CHILD CARE for infants and toddlers is provided each Sunday, during worship,
with adult supervision. The Nursery is located downstairs. Ask an usher for assistance.
Children through kindergarten are excused after the children's message to go downstairs
for enrich ment activities. Older children should remain in the sanctuary, unless
they are scheduled to assist Mr. Steve.
(4) TRANSPORTATION. Rides are available to and from church each Sunday. Please
call the church office if you or someone you know needs a ride.
(5) SUNDAY SCHOOL HELP WANTED - As our children return to school, we look forward
to the return of Learning for Life on Sept. 17.
We have broken the classes for children into three groups: Preschool -age 3 to
kindergarten; Elementary - grades 1-5; and Youth - grades 6-12. We need additional
help in teaching these classes. Please consider joining our teaching team.
If you would like to become a teacher, or if you have any questions please contact
Pastor Hale or Susi Ennis.
(6) REV. HALE WILL BE AWAY on vacation from Sept. 14-19. For any pastoral needs,
please call Rev. Jim Sirbaugh at 703-573-3027.
(7) THANK YOU TO JIM LECKY for preaching today while Pastor Hale is out
of town.
(8) FLOWERS today are given by Mike and Susi Ennis, in memory of Mike's dad Thomas
Ennis.
(9) SERVANT EVANGELISM today after Learning for Life. We'll be handing out candy
bars to help publicize the Alpha dinner and "to show God's love in a practical
way."
(10) BIRTHDAY SUNDAY - A very happy September birthday is wished to Catherine
Alexander, Theresa Angono, Gary Clark, Glory Emmanuel, Nellie Grosart, Charlotte
Hagen, Matthew Hale, Dorothy Jackson, Andy Jones, Amy Leinkram, Jeanette Moore,
David Pida, Carl Scheerer and Treva Smith.
(11) ST. PHILIP'S CATHOLIC CHURCH will hold its annual fall festival on Saturday,
Sept. 30th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The festival includes rummage items, craft and
bake sales as well as games and rides for kids. An international dinner starts
at 4 p.m. Please call the church at 703-573-3808 for further information.
(12) WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY starts up again this Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Books are available today in Fellowship Hall for
the letters of Paul, 1st Corinthians through Ephesians at $6.75 each.
