Held Last Rites for Mrs. Augusta Nolan, Mon.

Funeral services for Mrs Augusta Nolan, 61, were held at the Immaculate Conception church, Monday morning with Rev T. J. Norris in charge. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs Nolan, widow of the late Thomas P. Nolan died early Friday morning at the Vinton city hospital where she was taken shortly after the death of her husband, who died Nov. 7th, 1937.

A daughter of John and Mary Schallau, Augusta was born, August 17, 1876 at Dortmund, Germany, coming to this country at the age of five, with her parents. They located in Benton county. On October 1, 1900 she was married to Thomas Nolan. They farmed in Benton county until moving to Van Horne in 1918.

The deceased is survived by two children, Ray, on a farm north of Van Horne and Mrs Kenneth Simpson of Waterloo. There is also a grandson, Larry Nolan. Two brothers, Conrad of Van Horne and Charles of Grinnell, and two sisters, Mrs Joe Fitzgerald of Luzerne and Mrs Ed. Kelly of Waterloo, also survive.

Pallbearers were: John McCormick, Leo Nolan, Raphael Fitzgerald, Bernard Nolan, Edward Schallau and John Fitzgerald.
