Family History of the Schallaus (1956). This first history of the family was compiled and published by Alice M. and Bibiana Schallau, daughters of Henry Schallau (1874 - 1934), and granddaughters of John Henry and Catherine Maria Schallau. The original document from which the scans were made is owned by Joe Schallan, grandson of Joseph C. Schallau (1881 - 1931), and great-grandson of John Henry and Catherine Maria Schallau.

    This document is the starting point for all research into the history of our family. You'll find some differences in spellings and dates from spellings and dates that appear elsewhere, but this publication is an invaluable snapshot of the family as it was 45 years ago. All the research about the Schallau Family that has been carried out since 1956 owes a huge debt to the work of Alice and Bibiana.
