The Fundamentals

These three statements summarize my beliefs. The Bible verses are given to show I didn't just pull them out of thin air. In fact, several pastors have taught me these concepts (over and over again).

  1. The Bible is the literal Word of God.

    2 Timothy:16-17 (New International Version)

    16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
  2. Eternal salvation is a free gift by the grace of God which is received by believing in Jesus as the your Savior.

    Ephesians 2:9-10 (New International Version)

    8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
  3. Jesus, who lived a sinless life, sacrificed his life for the sins of the world, and was raised from the dead to demonstrate he had conquered death.

    Romans 6:4 (New International Version)

    We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
