JCC 5K Race

What time is registration?
Registration starts at 8:30 and the cut-off is 9:45. This will allow us to ensure all registrants are entered into the database for the race.

How do I register?
You can register by completing the registration form and sending it, along with your registration fee, to 2700 Spring Road, Newport News, VA 23606.

Where is race-day registration?
Registration and check in will be located in the gymnasium at the JCC.

What if I register and pay my fee but am unable to participate?
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

When do I receive my shirt?
You will receive your official JCC 5K race t-shirt when you check in on race day. Late registrants are not guaranteed a shirt.

What if it rains?
The race will be held rain or shine.

Where is the start and finish?
The race is an “out and back” course and starts and finishes at the Jewish Community Center parking lot at 2700 Spring Road, Newport News, VA.

Where is parking?
Free parking is available at the JCC lot until 9:30 am and then available around the corner at "Adath Jeshurun."

Who benefits from the proceeds of the race?
Proceeds will benefit the Jewish Community Preschools in Newport News and Williamsburg.

Will there be any child-friendly activities during the race?
There will be face-painting and entertainment for the children.

Who will receive awards and in which categories?
The top overall male and female. The top male and female in each of the categories:
1 mile: ages 6 & under, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15 No awards for participants 16 or older for 1 mile.
5K run/walk: ages 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Who can do the 5k?
You can run or walk the 5k. All those who wish to be timed officially must sign up for the 5k run. Strollers and families are welcome in the 5k and the 1 mile.

Who can participate in the 50 yard dash?
Kids under 10 can participate and all the runners will receive a ribbon.

How do we register for the 50 yard dash?
No registration form or fee is necessary. The dash will start at 11:30.
