    Beautiful German Swift
While not directly related to the RRSW, here is a very nice website from German Swifter Christian Uter to showcase N3327K (formerly D-EJYB). The guys in Europe deserve a lot of credit for keeping their Swifts flying in a much more heavily regulated environment than here in the US. Click on the photo below for more. Google can translate for you if needed.

The Swifts came from TX, OK, LA and AZ to the RRSW Fall Gathering at Granbury
Granbury, Texas is located about 25 miles southwest of Ft.Worth, Texas and is a town full of quaint little stores and is a shopper's paradise. It also hosts a great airport and is home to Pecan Plantation, an aviation community that houses many aviation enthusiasts. Barb and Steve Wilson, who live on Pecan Plantation, hosted this year's RRSW fall Gathering and it was outstanding.

    West Coast Swift Nationals 2009
West Coast Swift Nationals (aka Westover) is done for another year. This was an outstanding event; great people and great airplanes. Over 40 Swifts were in attendance including many RRSW members. Kudos to Carol and Gerry Hampton and all their helpers for an outstanding event. Click on the image below for a few photos from Westover 2009.

EAA AirVenture is over for another year
Another outstanding Oshkosh is in the history books. Approximately 20 Swifts made the pilgrimage this year and the RRSW was well represented. While I am sure to forget someone, RRSW members included Stan Price, Steve and Barb Wilson, Ricky Anderson, Wade and Terry Gillaspie, Jim Minor, Alan and Janet Dicker, Mark Holliday, Corky Fornoff, Don Pelligino, Steve Roth and Duane Golding. The cool weather was a pleasant change although the rain was a small challenge for those who camped. The
sights and sounds of the Oshkosh experience were as overwhelming as ever.

Ed Lloyd reports on last weekends RRSW get together in Hillsboro, TX.
The die hards in the RRSW that like to formate had a fun time on
Saturday morning at Hillsboro, TX. (INJ). Dave Heald, a fellow Swifter
manages the airport there so he hosted the event. We spent some time
looking for parachutists as they have a jump school on the field.
Those that attended were, Buck Jewell, Dave Heald, Stan Price and friend
Lynn Hearn, Wade Gillaspie, Dave Anderson, Kerby Warden, Keith Richbourg,
Jim Renfrow and Ed Lloyd. Seven Swifts in all. Keith Richbourg who hails
from Waco, TX. has a 180 Swift in the final stages of restoration. Should
see it gracing the skies around Texas before the year is out.
We're working on getting Wade Gillaspie and Dave Anderson four ship lead
qualified.

Restoration of N3876K   by Steve and Barb Wilson     Formation Fun - The Movie      Video courtesy of www.vansairforce.net About the Red River Swift Wing
The mission of the Red River Swift Wing remains vague and unwritten. We are just a bunch of guys and gals who love our Swifts, enjoy being around Swifts, or just enjoy being around people who talk Swifts. Most of the RRSW gang are in Texas and Oklahoma, close to the birthplace of the Swift in Saginaw,Texas, but we have supporters across the country. Thanks for visiting the RRSW website.
