The Arch of St-Louis, Missouri. That thing is huge, 630 ft tall, with an observation deck at the top. It symbolises the doorway to the West. In the 1880's, St-Louis was the limit of civilisation, beyond that lay the untamed territories.
The Little House On The Prairie ! This is the real Little House where Laura Ingalls and family stayed in the 1880's. It is located in Independence, Kansas. The Ingalls did stay in Walnut Grove, Minnesota but they lived in a dugout home, not a wooden house, and it was not in the prairie. (I know, I've been there...) (The TV series amalgamated the two places)
