PROFESSIONAL POSITIONS

June 2000 to June 2001 : Team Leader Software development at NORTEL NETWORKS

                                          (Montreal, Canada) CIM department

Direct and Supervise a team of 5 software developers in the Computer Integrating Manufacturing (CIM) department at Nortel Networks, Montreal. The work includes software systems design and specification, project management and the hiring, training and supervision of team members. The Team’s responsibilities includes the development, maintenance and support of software systems running the assembly lines and improving the productivity of the manufacturing plant and its various engineering departments.

July 1996 to June 2000 : Software designer at NORTEL NETWORKS,

                                          CIM department (Montreal, Canada)

Specify, plan, manage and implement development projects of software systems for the department of Computer Integrating Manufacturing at Nortel, Montreal. This work includes the design, coding and support to users as well as the supervision of consultants working on the projects. It also involved a fair amount of ORACLE DataBase administration.

Main projects at Nortel Networks (from July 1996 to now):

- Development of a Statistical Process Control System allowing the real time monitoring of machines for the manufacturing of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). The System was written in C on HP-UX with UNIX interfaces in UIM/X- XRT PDF and Win95 interfaces in DELPHI 4. The DataBase was ORACLE with Three Tier architecture, inter process communication through BSD Sockets. The Project took approximatively 5 men/year to develop.

- Support and maintenance of a system to create, manage and deploy electronic shop-aid  documents for the assembly lines. Modify system in order to make it Y2K complient. The project was developped in C on HP-UX, with RPC and OpenINGRES DataBase; user interface in OpenRoad (4GL).

- Enhance and maintain the Assessment system that enables product engineers to automatically verify the manufacturability of PCB designs scheduled for production at the St-Laurent facility. System written in C and LISP on HP-UX and with the UNICAD API.

- Planify and direct the integration and customisation of a new CAD system (VALOR Trilogy) to the plant’s current software systems. System installed on HP-UX environment with ORACLE DataBase and Perl / tk scripting.

July 1995 to July 1996 : Software Consultant at BELTRON inc. (Now MindReady, Montreal, Canada)

Development of an ORACLE database access system for a test platform of electronic products. The work was developped in C (HP-UX) with the environment Three-Tiers ENTERA (Borland) on a HP715 station. Project developped for NORTEL

December 1994 to June 1995 : Research Assistant and Tutorial assistant at the University of Sherbrooke, Department of mathematics and computer science:

Development of an Object Oriented Transport layer in C++ with the TLI Library. The environment was UNIX V.4 (SOLARIS).

Development of a graphic interface with the "Virtual Application Builder" (VAPS) development kit.

Assist a professor in Telecomunication course.

February 1994 to November 1994 : Military Service in Limoges (France)

Military Service at the 15th Command and Support Regiment in Limoges (France): Assistant to the Regiment’s Information Systems Manager (administration of a LAN and INFORMIX DataBase).

August 1993 to January 1994 : Training at the University of Sherbrooke :

Evaluation of several Petri Networks models for the design of Discreet Event Systems controllers. Develop an interface for the creation of Petri Networks. Work done in C++ and with VAPS.

October 1992 to July 1993 : Co-op student at AÉROSPATIALE (Aircraft Division, Toulouse, France)  now EADS / Airbus:

Program the generation and visualisation of shock wave surfaces for a 3D Graphical Visualisation software. The work implied the development of a new 3 Dimension contour detection algorithm applied to CFD simulations. The software was developed in C with SGL on Silicon Graphics workstations.

July 1992 to September 1992 : Co-op student at AÉROSPATIALE (Toulouse) :

Program the generation and tracing of Stream Lines and Surfaces for a 3D Graphical Visualisation software. The software was developed in C with SGL on Silicon Graphics workstations.
