This coin holder is part of a group of 24 flexible plastic prizes from the mid-1970's. The series includes several sub-sets that bear little or no resemblance to each other, making the series one of the most diverse plastic series to have been released.
In addition to a buffalo nickel and a lucky penny coin holder (none for a dime), there are topsy-turvy stand-ups, pocket clips (or paper clips), silly character finger puppets, feature squeezers faces, a drawing stencil, squeeze-action toys, a handsaw, and a "Heads or Toes" flip coin.
Prizes in this series are among the most difficult plastic prizes to find. Not many of these prizes were distributed, apparently, and only for a short time.
Colors of prizes in this series include bright blue, bright green, orange, red, yellow, and light lemon yellow. Some exist in dark translucent green and an off-white that glows in the dark, but it is not known if these were actually used as prizes or whether they were samples.
Each of the prizes is marked "Cracker Jack" and has a number indicating which prize it is in the series; the series number also appears on each piece: 1390.
