Cracker Jack Tiger Stand-Up

Tiger Stand-Up

This richly detailed stand-up prize is one of ten in a series produced by Formold Plastics, Inc. in 1952. Though all in the set are animals, the style varies from realistic (bear carrying cub in her mouth, bison, double-humped camel, kangaroo with a baby joey in her pocket, a monkey and baby, and the tiger shown) to stylized (running bear, klipspringer, and rooster) to comical (tiger cat).

Because of the range in style, these various animal stand-ups might at first seem not to belong to the same grouping. But upon closer inspection, their similarities become apparent and distinguishable from other stand-ups. They are all hollow-backed; and their bases are squared off on the ends, concave on the bottom, and have "Cracker Jack" embossed within the recession.
