The Lake
was taken on the drive from Austria
to Italy, through the Autrian Alps.
I took the photo because of
the color of the lake, which the woman at the tourist shop nearby told
me was unusual. Apparently, heavy recent rains had stirred up the
sediment and algae, causing the most beautiful blue/green color.
It glowed like a gem!
Waterfall was taken in Switzerland, where we toured
a series of waterfall caves. Over the
millenia,
the glacial falls have carved a spectacular series of caverns, with the
water cascading into pools, then down again into another pool below.
The caverns have stairs, platforms and lighting installed. There's
a series of about 8 falls. This particular fall is near the bottom
and is so close to the viewing platform you could reach your hand out into
the spray, as Jamie's Vanna White impersonation shows us.
Tea
Jamie
and I are at breakfast at a tea room in Kensington, London, just around
the corner from my aunt Susan's flat. It's called "The Muffin Man".
They have fantastic traditional teas and cakes. I enjoyed the plain
scones with jam and clotted cream - not so good for the waistline, though!
Bungee Jumping:
Here I am, in the gondola, ready to go. That smile and casual stance do not indicate my state of mind at all. This was a tough thing for me to do, but I wanted to do it.... one time.
They are
winching me down, while I am still bouncing. The guys are pretty
good at catching me on the downbounce, to keep me from bouncing forever.
