Maternal Ancestors

There are two sets of Jones ancestors.
The first was _________? JONES of Virginia, dates and wife UNKNOWN whose daughter, JUDITH JONES born on 31 August 1775 in Virginia married Joseph Samuel Adcock, Sr. in about 1796 in Virginia. After her husband Joseph died in Virginia in 1825, Judith and her six children moved to Smith County, Tennessee and lived there about four years. Daughter Judith Ann Adcock met and married Joseph D. Taylor and they soon moved to Miller Co, Missouri. Judith with her three sons and remaining two daughters then moved to Simpson County, Kentucky. While living in Kentucky, son Joseph Samuel Adcock, Sr. met Elizabeth A. Fuqua (of Logan County, Kentucky) and was married within a short time remaining there. In the spring of 1836, Judith and her two remaining sons and two remaining daughters moved from Simpson County, Kentucky to Miller County Missouri. 1a. SIDNEY JONES born about 1772 in Virginia. Sidney was a silversmith.
1b. JUDITH JONES born on 31 August 1775 in Virginia, died on 02 July 1858 in Miller County, Missouri, married about 1796 in Buckingham County, Virginia to JOSEPH ADCOCK, born 11 August 1775 in Virginia, died in 1825 in Washington County, Virginia.
Children of Judith Jones and Joseph Adcock:
1c. JAMES JONES born about 1778 in Virginia.
The second Jones family begins with JABEZ JONES of Tennessee. Jabez and his wife were in Cooper County, Missouri in the early 1830s in that part that later was ceded to Morgan County when it was formed.
JABEZ JONES born in 1801 in Tennessee, died 10 August 1870 in Morgan County, Missouri, married about 1830 MARTHA HARRIS born about 1812 in Tennessee, died 08 January 1863 in Morgan County, Missouri.
Jabez and Martha's children were:
1. MARTHA ELIZABETH JONES born 25 August 1832 in Cooper County, Missouri, died on 08 January 1863, married on 12 September 1850 in Cooper County, Missouri to JOHN HARRIS born about 1827 of Morgan County, Missouri.
2. JAMES M. JONES born about 1834 in Cooper County, Missouri.
3. ABRAHAM JONES born about 1836 in Cooper County, Missouri, married on 26 September 1861 in Moniteau County, Missouri to AMANDA ANN HARVEY born about 1838 in Kentucky.
4. WILLIAM RILEY JONES born on 02 January 1838 in Cooper County, Missouri, married on 17 March 1859 in Morgan County, Missouri to JANE SON born about 1840 in Missouri.
5. JOHN ROBERT JONES born on 29 December 1839 in Cooper County, Missouri, died 1864 - 1865 in Morgan County, Missouri, married on 29 December 1859 in Morgan County, Missouri to NANCY MALISSA MADOLE born on 26 August 1839 in Logan County, Kentucky, died on 02 November 1918 in Schoolton, Seminole County, Oklahoma.
6. MARY CATHERINE JONES born on 07 November 1843 in Cooper County, Missouri, died on 24 March 1907 in Morgan County, Missouri, married in 1860 in Morgan County, Missouri to SAMUEL NEWTON "Newt" MADOLE born on 28 October 1835 in Logan County, Missouri, died on 16 April 1915 in Morgan County, Missouri.
7. RHODA E. JONES born about 1848 in Cooper County, Missouri, married about 1866 to a Mr. SON born about 1845 in Missouri.
