They came to Moniteau County, Missouri from Canton Bern, Switzerland in the mid 1800s with at least seven children. Their youngest son, ALEXANDER "Alex" BURGER born in 10 January 1837 in Summiswald, Canton Bern, Switzerland was married on 13 February 1866 in Moniteau County, Missouri to MARIA "Mary" WYSS born on 27 June 1843 in Gerzensee, Canton Bern, Switzerland.
HALDIMAN(N) Ancestors
ULRICH HALDIMANN born in 1620 in Canton Bern, Switzerland married CHRISTINA ZUMSTEIN. Their 3rd great-grandson, JOHANNES CHRIST HALDIMANN, born on 08 June 1806 in Erhlenbach, Canton Bern, Switzerland, was married on 30 October 1835 in Steffisburg, Canton Bern, Switzerland to MARGARETHA BÄHLER born 28 February 1808 in Wimmis, Canton Bern, Switzerland. John and Margaretha emigrated to Tuscarawas County, Ohio in 1837 with their first two children. Their last child was born there on 20 May 1852 and they moved to Moniteau County, Missouri in 1853.
WYSS Ancestors
ULRICH "Uehli" WYSS born about 1608 in Switzerland, married URSULA SCHNYTER. Their 4th great-grandson, CHRISTIAN A. WYSS, Sr., born on 17 August 1810 in Gerzensee, Canton Bern, Switzerland, was married on 29 August 1829 in Muri bei Bern, Canton Bern, Switzerland to MARIA ELISABETH STEINER born 26 September 1807 in Heimberg, Canton Bern, Switzerland. Christina and Maria migrated to Tuscarawas County, Ohio with their nine living children in 1851 and then moved on to Moniteau County, Missouri where Christian died in 1858. Their seventh child, MARIA "Mary" WYSS born on 27 June 1843 in Gerzensee, Canton Bern, Switzerland who married ALEXANDER "Alex" BURGER on 13 February 1866 in Moniteau County, Missouri was my great-grandmother.
