| Jim
Sutter is a management consultant specializing in Information Technology,
focusing on technical evaluation and its advanced application. He
has worked with companies such as Xerox, Chrysler,
and Rockwell in the development of information technology
plans and architecture. He has advised companies such as IBM, Oracle,
Digital Equipment, and Berkeley Networks in areas of customer requirements
and product planning.
Before joining the Peer Consulting Group, Jim Sutter had twenty years experience as a top chief information officer in several Fortune 50 companies. As vice president and General Manager of Information Systems at Rockwell, he managed a large computing and network infrastructure on a worldwide basis. In addition, Mr. Sutter was responsible for Corporate I/T strategy, architecture, and Applications Development. He led the establishment of advanced computational facilities in support of the nation's space program, as well as world class I/T practices related to Rockwell's emergence as a high-technology commercial firm. As Director of Corporate Information Management at Xerox, Mr. Sutter served in a number of management roles over his 16 years with the firm. He developed Xerox' overall information architecture, led the international planning activity, and served in the CIO capacity for the last five years. Mr. Sutter has provided information technology advice to DaimlerChrysler Corporation in his role as Chairman of its I/T Advisory Board, and has assisted the CEOs of Dow Chemical and the Gallo Winery as the CIO Advisor. He consults on I/T management issues for several Fortune 100 firms, and currently chairs the Executive Advisory Board for Persistence Software. A frequent lecturer and guest speaker, Mr. Sutter has been invited to Keynote Intranet '98, Networld +Interop, the Internet Expo, and the American Management Association’s Annual Conference. He has lectured at the Harvard Business School, NYU's Stern School of Management, UCLA's Anderson School of Management, the University of Michigan, and Claremont's Drucker Executive MBA Program. Mr. Sutter received his B.S. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from Marquette University. He recently taught Information Technology Strategy to MBA candidates in the Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Irvine. |
