We started Midnite Blues in 1976, where most of our play list consisted of traditional blues and rhythm and blues. For the past thirty years, our music has been inspired by T-Bone Walker, Elmor James, Louie Jordan, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters,Willie Dixon, Freddie King, Big Maybelle, Joe Turner, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Witherspoon, Jimmy Reed, Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, Junior Parker, Little Walter, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, Hank Williams, ....to name just a few, and of course, most all of the musicians we have opened up for or backed up have held a prominant and distinguished place in our development.

The band has had up to six members at a time with the addition of horns, piano, and harmonica at various stages of performance. Generally, our sound has focused on strong vocals, powerful saxaphone and screamin, but tasty electric guitars with a Chicago feel "Southwest" style.

Midnite Blues recorded two albums in the early 80's and recorded a CD in 1998 at Brother John Studios(Johnny Shaw) in Phoenix, Arizona. The band is currently working on a new CD project at the Fermenting Hounds Studios.

The band has opened up for, or shared the stage with such luminaries as, Bo Diddly, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Foghat, War, Johnny Winter, Joe Houston, Jimmy Witherspoon, Roy Gaines, Lazy Lester, BB King, Tommy Castro, The Holmes Brothers, Les McCann, Peter "Madcat" Ruth, Jim "Mudcat" Grant, Charlie Musselwhite.
