Smultron was
originated in 1996 by Dave Wahlstrom.
There are approximately 300 members.
We want to thank
Dave for starting this important e-mail list so people can get
help in finding relatives in Sweden and the USA. It also helps all of us
to
learn more about Sweden and America.
Here are pictures
of some of those people getting together to discuss
their genealogy with other members.

Thank you Jerry, but I can´t find
anything to add.
It was nice to see you all, Swe-Ams
as well as Swedes - people I know to some
extent but had not seen.
It is amazing how "easygoing" it is to meet with
"foreign" people you have never seen
after having met them over the Internet.

My cousin Stig and I spent a fine study and recreation week together
in
July. We got a good start of it by taking part in the Smultron
luncheon in the Old City of
Stockholm.
One after the other turned up from the cyber space and
introduced themselves. Of
course it was thrilling to see the faces of friends
from the net and carry on a
conversation eye to eye. Why not choose a
special theme to discuss if a similar meeting is being
arranged again
and ask somebody to be the opening speaker.
Many thanks Erik for taking
the initiative of the first Smultron
get-together in Sweden .

Had a good time at the lunch and was pleased to meet
Stig Petersson and
Gunnar Wengren for they have help me greatly in my search for GGrandpa
Hessell.
Would like to have had more time so I could get used to the accents.
I was not always sure of
what some of our Swedish friends were saying. Thanks
for your interest.

Hi,
What can I say? I enjoyed the lunch
very much
and I hope we have started a tradition.
To all "smultron": Welcome to
Stockholm next summer.
Rolf Norberg rolf.norberg@norberg-research.se
I do not believe anybody took notes of this meeting....:) :)
We started with introducing ourselves, and
telling what areas
we are researching in Sweden and the USA.
We then discussed ways to improve
researching in Sweden and the USA.
We did not discuss any one thing in depth.
There was some discussion about taking trips to
Sweden. Sam was there on an
Elderhostel trip. Jerry & Colleen
made their own arrangements at the hotels, and
found out it is cheaper than going
through a travel agency.
This meeting was just a friendly get together, to meet
people you have talked to on Smultron.
Hopefully, there will be another next year.

Ellenton Florida Luncheon Dec. 2, 2000

VÄLKOMMEN
WELCOME
The
Luncheon was held at the
Crab Trap II in Elenton Florida on December 2, 2000

Left to right, Camilla Yost, Carolyn and Tom Erickson,
Marilyn Hayden Camillas mother, Phil Johnson
and John Hayden, Camiilas dad.
Notice the Lucia and Dala horse on the table. I also had a
ghetto blaster
playing Swedish Christmas music and a Swedish flag
just out of site to my left on the wall/mirror.
We mostly talked about where we
lived and how Swedish we were and what we did
when we visited Sweden and what we were up to now in our lives...a couple of
hours worth. Camilla Yost.
