The story of Captain Jack and
the Modoc War.

Inspired by the true events of the Modoc War of 1873 along the California/Oregon border. A band of Modoc Indians escaped the reservation given to them by the U.S. government and survived for six months with only a hundred plus poorly armed warriors against the U.S. cavalry. This is the story of their leader Keintpoos, known to the whites as Captain Jack. The Modocs fled to a lava bed formed by an extinct volcano and lived and fought there until the bitter end. Although this was a short war, it was certainly memorable for those who fought in it.
