Below are actual pictures of gamerooms which have been submitted to the site (won't you submit yours?) or have been found online. These might offer some inspiration in your own design.

CLAY COWGILL'S GROUND CONTROL RETROCADE [open] [style: classic]

Highlights: An modern day retro arcade, open to the public, in downtown Portland, OR. Old brick building with high ceilings and massive wood beams. Black lights, color spots, disco ball help add to the 80's arcade feel. Occasional live music performances. They also sell vintage console games. What are your thoughts on this arcade? Read more about it...

FUN TERMINAL, SAN FRANCISCO [closed] [style: classic]

Highlights: 1980's arcade located in downtown San Francisco next to the bus terminal. That location was last reported to house a costume shop. Credits to Jean for unearthing these pictures. Jean used to hang out there as a kid. He discovered these pictures on an album of an old SF band called The Mutants. What are your thoughts on this arcade?

UNKNOWN ARCADES, JAPAN [assumed open] [style: Japanese modern]

Highlights: I don't know a lot about Japanese arcades, but here is one page that clains to be all about Japanese arcades. Generally, they have the small Japanese sit-at cabinets and some rather strange gimmick based games.

EMPEROR HOTEL, JOHANNESBURG SOUTH AFRICA [assumed open] [style: modern]

Highlights: An arcade in an upscale hotel in South Africa. It appears to have a roller coaster running through it. Wish I could find out more information! I obtained these pictures from the Leibowitz / Lempesis Photo Albums on the web. Do you know anything more about this arcade? Let us know!

SS BILLIARDS, TWIN CITIES, 1973 [still open] [style: ancient]

Highlights: Okay, you have to remember, this is 1973. They have some nice electromechanical pinball machines, pool tables, and get this, they've got that video arcade game Pong! They're still open today, and if you want to visit their website, you can go there, too.
