No real special requirement for ceilings, but an unusally low ceiling could be a problem.

Suspended Ceilings
  Adds to theme, but not worth installing one, unless for other reasons.
  Paint runners one color (dark gray) with tiles a different color (lighter gray).
  Easy installation of overhead loudspeakers to pump music.
  Replace ceiling tiles with arcade related artwork?
  Ceiling tiles are often painted dark (black). Other colors may work.

Mirrored Ceiling
  Smoked mirror
  Silver Mylar  Geoff Gunn (geoff_gunn@hotmail.com) makes a shimmering mirror

Ceiling Fan
  Promotes airflow / reduces heat pockets
  With some work, a fan can be decorated to add to the theme.
  If you've got the extra money, go for a fan with a built-in display!
